Job interviews

This book presents an analysis of the job interview genre. The book deals with issues related to the different rhetorical functions of the interview, among them: contributing to decisions about job candidates and perpetuating values and beliefs in the world of work. The proposal for this book arose from the fact that much of the literature on job interviews does not take into account the dynamic and complex nature that surrounds and constitutes this genre, particularly in relation to its purposes and generic expectations.

Lafity dos Santos Alves est titulaire d'une maîtrise en linguistique de l'Université fédérale de Piauí et enseigne actuellement la lecture, la production et l'analyse linguistique à l'Institut Dom Barreto - IDB (Teresina-PI). Elle est également membre du Centre de recherche CATAPHORA (UFPI) depuis 2007.
