JOB SHOP SCHEDULING IN A MANUFACTURING COMPANY

The primary purpose of writing this book is to make available to the students, researchers and is prepared for case study projects. There are many appropriate problem definitions for job shop scheduling due to the complex and dynamic nature of the problem with a large number of variables and constraints linked to jobs and resources, such as specific due dates, processing times, handling/routing requirements, and performance measures including maximum and mean tardiness, total flow time, and portion of tardy jobs. This work looks into the practical problems occurred in the job shop environments due to improper scheduling on the shopfloor. This book presents the task of job shop scheduling that determines the sequence and timing of jobs on available resources by using Lekin Scheduling System and compares the results obtained from the Lekin scheduling system and providing a better solution to the company / industry.

Er. Narendra Kumar Kolla is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at GITAM (deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam, INDIA. He has rich experience in teaching and research in GITAM. He has good experience in industry and academic institute in the mechanical field. He undertakes the research projects on ROBOTICS.
