Oberstleutnant Karl-Gottfried Nordmann (born 22 November 1915 in Gießen died 22 July 1982 in Greenwich, Connecticut(USA)) was a German World War II Luftwaffe flying ace. A flying ace or fighter ace is a military aviator credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft during aerial combat.Nordmann was born on 22 November 1915 in Giessen. At the start of the war Nordmann was serving with I./Jagdgeschwader 77 (JG 77). By March 1940 he was an Oberleutnant and Staffelkapitän of 3./JG 77. In November 1940 Nordmann, having achieved 8 air victories, was transferred to command 12 Staffel of Jagdgeschwader 51 (JG 51).
