Kashmiriyat in 21st Century: Challanges and Prospects

The objective of this study is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the concept of Identity within the realms of social science and everyday life. Specifically, it seeks to examine the influence of ideas, ideologies, and ideational variables on the formation of political identities, groups, and discourses in the region of Kashmir. This study centers its attention on the conceptual framework and historical evolution of Kashmiri identity, with a specific focus on the current political debate. This study delves into the underlying reasons that contribute to the political interpretations of Kashmiriyat, with a specific emphasis on its social dimension. The study also investigates the representation of Kashmiri identity in mainstream discourses, proposing that untapped alternative data sources may offer significant contributions to understanding this phenomenon.
