Kemal Izzet (born 29 September 1980) is an English professional footballer. He currently plays for Colchester United. His father is a Turkish Cypriot, and his older brother, Mustafa (Muzzy) Izzet, was a Turkish international footballer. Izzet started his career with Premier League club Charlton Athletic. He did not break into the first team at Charlton, and in April 2001, he joined Colchester United on a permanent basis after a one month loan period. Later that year, he was linked with Ipswich Town and Leicester City but was happy to stay with Colchester, and signed a long-term contract with the club in March 2002.
