Kierkegaard on Politics

This investigation of Kierkegaard as a political thinker with regard to the Danish context, and to his place in the history of political thought, deals with the more direct discussion of politics in Kierkegaard, and the ways in which political ideas are embedded in his literary, aesthetic, ethical, philosophical ,and religious thought.

The most admirable about Kierkegaard on Politics is the attempt from Stocker to try and argue for something original in contrast to existing works. Kierkegaard's religious writings concerning the Absolute are used in an interesting way concerning politics. The book contains many interesting passages, and each essay is neatly demarcated from the other, and original and uniquely personal in its own way. Barry Stocker teaches philosophy at Istanbul Technical University, Turkey, and is an Honorary Research Associate at the Department of Philosophy, University College London, UK. He is the author of Derrida on Deconstruction (2006), and is currently working on a book about liberty in Foucault.
