Kite Dynamics and Wind Energy Harvesting

Kite Power is a new way to produce renewable energy from high altitude winds by using kites. If you are completely new to the subject keep in mind that the kites we are talking about are not the toys that you would buy to your kids. Have you ever tried the sport Kite Surf? If you did, you know how much "fun" is readily available only with a polymeric sail and a few ropes. In engineering language that "fun" means only one thing: "power". Because of all this power, kitesurfing is an extreme sport. If you are not careful you could get hurt or even worse. This book describes how to make electricity with kites and will persuade you that economics and physics are on the side of kite power. Focus more on chapters 1 to 5, and be sure not to skip chapter 5.

Antonello got his Master's degree in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2012.
