Knowledge work in the context of school autonomy and school development

The call for a more self-determined education system with autonomous schools has been heard for several decades. Current reforms are responding to this and expanding the pedagogical and organisational scope of individual schools with the aim of bringing about improvements in the school system. This book focuses on the implementation of the legally established freedom for schools and the significance of school autonomy for school development. In this respect, it examines the question of how increasing the productivity of knowledge work within the framework of school autonomy can contribute to school development at the school level.

Beate Schleger-Wunsch, born in 1980, is married and lives in Vienna. Her experience in the education system dates back to 2002. The author teaches at a new secondary school, works as a mentor in teacher training, and is also active in continuing education and school development.
