This book is based on three papers which were written and published on different international journals by the author. The book discusses the L2 motivations for learning English as a foreign language(EFL). The book falls in three parts. Part One gives a thorough review of major theories of motivations in the mainstream and its implications in the field of English learning. Part one also reviews major studies on L2 motivations.Part two is case study about the L2 Motivations for Sudanese students. Part two discusses in depth the different L2 motivations and how do they affect the learning process of students. Part Three discusses the L2 motivational strategies used by teachers of English. This part presents an overview of the different strategies used by teachers to motivate students to study English. Also, it presents a case study of Sudanese Teachers to investigate whether they use L2 motivational strategies with their students or not.
