High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Lada Kalina is a low cost supermini car sold under the Lada marque and produced by the Russian automaker AvtoVAZ. Its mass production began in November 2004, but it became available for purchase almost a year later. The three models developed are: Lada 1117 5-door station wagon (production began in 2007/2008), Lada 1118 4-door sedan (full production began in 2005/2006), Lada 1119 5-door hatchback (full production began in 2006). There are two gasoline engines, with 81 and 91 hp (60 and 68 kW). The new Kalina will be exported to Western Europe with a price of about 7000; it will be submitted to EuroNCAP safety tests. It will have ABS, electric power steering and rear seats that can be folded so that a horizontal platform is formed. Its name is Kalina in other countries, but in Finland it will be marketed as Lada 119, because "kalina" means "rattle" in Finnish. It is not sold in certain markets.
