The Raspberry Moth (Lampronia corticella) is a moth of the Prodoxidae family. It is found in most of Europe, except Iceland, the Iberian Peninsula and the Balkan Peninsula. It is an introduced species in North America, where it was first in New Brunswick, Canada in 1936.The wingspan is 10-12 mm.The larvae feed on Rubus species.A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 different species of moth (about ten times the number of species of butterfly), with thousands of species yet to be described.
