Land use changes and consequent problems of land degradation

Land use change can impact the socio-economic status of the rural population. Agricultural productivity, which may determine rural income levels, wealth and education, can be affected by the consequences of land use changes. Therefore, understanding of the complex interaction of these changes in their temporal and spatial patterns and processes is the baseline to formulate and verify strategy for sustainable land management in rural areas.
