LAND USE PLANNING AS A PREREQUISITE FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Land use planning as a tool of space management, plays an important role not only in improving the living conditions of the population through the construction of necessary infrastructure but also in the creation of wealth and economic competitiveness especially as the world is reduced to a global village through globalization where each actor should play its role. The territory as a basic structure of development and governance should offer a good living environment to its inhabitants, especially those living in rural areas. Territorial planning leads to rural development by enhancing local potential through the creation of economic activities based on the resources of each region.
