Learner-Centered Approach and Students' Performance

Improving teaching and learning, particularly by the use of learner-centered approaches (LCA), has been a fundamental concern in any education system. Despite this importance, substantial shortfalls have been observed in most of developing countries.In all levels of education. Teachers still concentrate on teaching by using traditional approaches resulting into de-motivation and poor performance of students. Focused on the topic of field research techniques in Geography, this book intends on the improvement of teaching and learning especially through developing a teaching and learning material (module) based on the learner-centered approach which would minimize the problem of learning by rote methods. Specifically, the designed material was intended to raise students participation, motivation and performance.
