Legal Regime of Copyright Administration in Nigeria

Copyright is one branch of the body of laws collectively referred to as intellectual property. The other aspect is industrial property and is protected through patents, trademarks and designs, while copyright protection relates to literary and artistic works. It is essentially aimed at ensuring that no-one unlawfully annexes the fruits of another person's labour. This research represents the broadest spectrum of informed opinions and experiences on Nigerian Copyright Law and Administration. It covers economic cultural basis for copyright protection, nature, subsistence and scope of copyright. The level of enforcement and judicial attitudes, the impact of technologies on and the possible direction of Nigerian copyright administration in the light of prevailing international terms.
