Legal repression of gender-based violence in the region

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Burundi repress gender-based violence (GBV), including sexual violence as one of the types of GBV. The repression of GBV also includes the protection of victims' dignity and health throughout the period of their legal (and/or judicial) and medical support. These two countries repress, albeit with certain differences, rape, the arousal of minors to debauchery or prostitution, child prostitution, pimping and procuring, indecent assault, forced sterilization, sexual mutilation, forced marriage, early marriage, adultery, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, sexual slavery, forced pregnancy, zoophilia...
