Lessons learned from the Congolese presidential election of 12/30/2018

This book defines the challenges to be met and the conditions to be met for the election to be the foundation of democratic legitimacy to enable elected leaders to enjoy the acceptance of the people, the source of all power. It has two parts. The first addresses the crisis of legitimacy of leaders in the DRC, by analyzing the causes of the said crisis of legitimacy (Chapter I) to determine the consequences (Chapter II). The second part examines the Congolese presidential election of December 30, 2018 in the face of the challenge of the legitimacy crisis, starting from the lessons learned from the said election (Chapter I), up to meeting the challenges of democratic elections and offering some perspectives. future (Chapter II). The interest of this research is to offer to legal practitioners as well as to all jurists, an outline allowing to avoid the errors of the past in the choice of the leaders in general, and of the President of the Republic in in particular, by judicious and consistent treatment of electoral disputes by the judiciary. It also interests political parties and civil society.
