Level of Supply Chain Integration in a Family Industry

The management of supply chains (SCM) occupies an important space in the companies' processes, making them more efficient and profitable, enabling continuous improvements and innovations in their processes. Considering the importance of the SCM, this study aims to analyze the level of integration of the supply chain of the family-run food industry, located in the Western Region of Santa Catarina regarding the SCM practices. Methodologically the study is characterized as to the objectives as descriptive, as to the procedures as case study, as to the problem approach as qualitative-quantitative. Data collection was conducted through a survey with a self-assessment instrument, in addition to semi-structured interviews and document analysis. The focal company has family management and operates in food production since 1988, currently with approximately 600 employees. The research was applied in a sample composed of managers of the key processes of the industry supply chain. The upstream supply chain is composed of key suppliers and the downstream is composed of supermarket customers and distributors.
