Life Cycle Project Management

Emerging threats to projects from events like climate change, natural calamities to interdepedance require radical shifts in defining, developing, procuring and managing projects. Massive projects from the states of mid-stream operations to near ending service lives are in need for a robust approach in dealing with competitors across all sectors. Contemporary project managers can not ignore being part of devising appropriate solutions. Focusing on a whole of life philosophy, a new project management concept embodying simulation technology has been presented to exploit true value- for- money in development and effective management of complex projects. The systems based methodological concept put forward in the book aims to benefit academics, students and project management practitioners from every sector. The framework will assist significantly in analysing effectiveness of some of the emerging project procurement models such as public-private partnerships (PPP), Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) or similar adopted in many countries. The outcomes will ensure optimal value and secure high confidence among the parties in developing major public and private projects across the globe.

Hemanta Doloi is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. Having worked in industry for over five years, his PhD and postdoctoral research resulted in a new project management concept known as Life Cycle Project Management (LCPM). Hemanta is an active contributor to delivering project management courses in the corporate sector.
