Life Skills for Adolescents

This book is the result of a meticulously conducted research following rigorous literature review on adolescence. Most often seen as an important stage on the developmental continuum, adolescence has occupied a center stage in psychological research for decades. The essence of this research lies in the fact that it handles the most sensitive aspects of adolescent development, i.e., Emotional Distress, Problem Behavior and Social Competence. Rather than simply measuring and reporting these variables, the research has focused on utilizing Life Skills (that are the basic skills of life inherently present in all but seldom used consciously for advantageous benefits) based intervention as a practical, activity-based module to train the target population for managing / reducing emotional distress, problem behavior and building good social competence.

Dr. Hita Claudia Rao is a practicing Clinical Psychologist and a Psychology Teacher, holding an MSc degree in Psychology and a MS in Counseling and Psychotherapy. She is passionate about working with adolescents and young adults who are venturing into life.
