Lightless Tales. Life is a Story - story.one

For all of time, humans have feared the dark. After all, we are light dwellers. Our eyes enable us to see, and we made that into our most crucial sense. It is therefore understandable that we have a strong urge to stay in the light. Might that be a mistake? Schould we stop to remain in the light, stop to seek knowledge no matter the cost?The twelve stories in this collection tell of the horrors hiding in the dark, and horrors revealed by light. It would be far more fitting to, instead of saying fear of the dark, speak of fear in the dark. For what we are afraid of is what we cannot comprehend. Yet the real fear will only be revealed if we stare into the horror, and it stares back. Under a lightless cover, there are some things that should remain unseen. Perhaps we should be more content in the dark, more content with the unknown.

Up until now, I have spent 21 Years in this world. I am a successful student in geoecology, yet that does not prompt to write English horror, for that, I need to explain a bit more.It all started 2003 in Auckland, New Zealand, as the third child of a German family. Even if we returned too early to Germany to learn English as my first language, a certain interest and native feeling remained. It led me to eventually buying a book with the stories from H.P. Lovecraft when I was 14, though it ended up in my shelf for a while.Only a few years later, when I stared into the abyss and it looked back with tentacles and many eyes did I remembere that book. From that point onwards the weird, the occult and cosmic horror fascinated me in an almost eldritch way. It did not take long before I wrote my own first short story, "The lurker of the waves".
