As Pierre Fontanier (1977: 359) points out to us: "Style is the instrument that served to engrave the word, as the pen serves to trace it with a liquid. It is now the art of painting thought by all the means that a language can provide." In the context of this consideration, this book offers readers the opportunity to discover how knowledge of "figures of speech" is useful to us in order to: To penetrate the genius of language, to deepen the secrets of style, to grasp the true relationship of expression with idea or thought, to know the art of thinking and writing in its finest and most delicate way. To do this, we propose to analyze the figures of style in the prosaic texts of the Belgian poet-writer Henri Michaux, in comparison with the Turkish translation of his prose poems. Our corpus of study is therefore precisely Michaux's "Un Certain Plume" and its Turkish translation entitled "Plume Adinda Biri" (1994) by M. Abidin Emre.
