The book talks about Film Adaptation as a form of translation and highlights its role in the field of cinema i.e. Hindi Cinema. It attempts to establish the importance of the art of film adaptation i.e. the transfer of a written work to a feature film. It also tries to establish the fact that from the earliest days of cinema, adaptation has been nearly as common as the development of original screenplays . It also discusses how the structure and content of the original text is altered in order to fit, survive and multiply into a new environment of the target genre.And it also discusses in detail the problems faced by the film-makers while adapting literary works into films.
