The aim of the study was to describe the system of local knowledge of wajo community their, behavior and traditional commitmen to applay local knowledge and factors affecting the community in maintaining the use of local knowledge and analyze the socialization pattem done to make common agrrment and prospective for the sustainability of the community knowledge in sustaining their lives.The said local knowledge are mattiro esso deceng (looking for good days), pananrang (sings of nature), sennu-Sennureng (hopes, prayers, and ideals), and gau - gaukeng (ritual tools) in the activities of makkaja (fishing), mappatettong bola ( building a house). and mabbatattau (making family). The study was descriptive using a qualitative analysis.The results of the study indicate that although there has been a social change due to development of science and technology. The local knowledge is influenced by culture and religious values applied individually, collectively, rationally and irrationally and also by experience (model) and mutual understanding. internalization and socialization is done by sitting tugether to discuss something, common decision about marriage, face to face and social network.
