Details
Long Term Evolution (LTE) of the UMTS is a lucid move in the era of mobile communication technologies. Such a revolution is required by the perpetual increase in order for high speed connections on communication networks, low latency and delay, less error rates and flexibility because modern users and network applications have become progressively more reliant on these necessities for efficient functionality and performance. 3GPP LTE offers high data rates for both uplink and downlink transmission systems, lower bit error rates, improved spectral efficiency, low delay and latency. LTE enables a number of promising technologies such as Multi Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antennas, Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SCFDMA) at the uplink, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access (OFDMA) at the downlink, uphold for modulation techniques as QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM. These functional and performance targets of 3GPP LTE can be met with a huge measure of certainty, but the conventional MMSE or ZF equalizer is not effective enough to combat ISI for highly frequency selective channel.
