Lucky Punch -About the passion of young girls for boxing
Details
The film "Million Dollar Baby" tells the story of a female boxer, who is determined to work her way out of a weak social environment and eventually pays the price with her life. The film deals not as much with her boxing achievements as with her strength, passion and her willpower to assert herself in a predominantly male domain. In the district of Weimar West, a social hotspot in Weimar, the Weimar Boxing Club is located. Tanja, Nathalie and Altinay are girls between fourteen and seventeen years old, seemingly normal teenagers who meet for boxing. The documentary film Lucky Punch was produced as a book and accompanies the three girls on their way to adulthood and deals with a male sport and their participation in it. The portraits illuminate the social background, their friendship and their shared passion for boxing.
