Magnetism is a virtue that drives the contemporary society. From the earth's revolution around the sun, to the universe swaying to charms of Indian beauties, magnetism exemplifies its occurrence in opposite still bonded examples. Orthodontics and craniofacial orthopaedics are therapeutic approaches that modify the occlusion, facial form and function through the application of prolonged, mechanical forces. Traditional force delivery systems in orthodontics include the use of wires, springs and elastics. Instead of them, magnetic forces can be used to generate the force for tooth movement and orthopaedic treatment. Advantages of magnetic force delivery include good force control at short distances, no friction, and no material fatigue.
