MANAGEMENT OF DISCOLORED TOOTH

One of the greatest assets a person can have is a radiant smile that shows beautiful, natural teeth. Tooth plays a major role in the beauty and personality of the individual. Achieving a pleasant smile that contributes much is nothing but the color of the teeth. Teeth are polychromatic .The color varies among the incisal, gingival & cervical areas according to thickness, reflectance of different colors & translucency in enamel & dentin. Tooth discoloration may occur due to (extrinsic) external or (intrinsic) internal staining agents and creates a wide range of cosmetic problems affecting people of various age group.The dental profession and the public expend considerable amounts of time and money in attempts to improve the appearance of discolored teeth. This book provides the gist of different treatment modalities for the management of discolored teeth including removal of surface stains, microabrasion, macroabrasion, bleaching, veneers, laminates and lumineers to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible.
