Management of human and wildlife conflicts in DR Congo

The book explores the root causes of conflict between humans and wildlife, focusing on habitat loss, the expansion of agricultural areas, and the search for natural resources. It highlights how economic needs and population growth are increasing pressure on natural habitats.It also analyzes the role of protected areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo, discussing their importance for the conservation of biodiversity, but also the challenges they pose, particularly in terms of delimitation and respect for borders. It examines how these areas may unintentionally push animals to interact more with human communities.Some species are more often involved in conflicts with humans than others. The final chapter of the book identifies these species, such as elephants, gorillas and hippos, and explains why they are more likely to cause conflict.

Mumbere Saambili Jean wurde am 25. November 1986 in Miriki, im Lubero-Territorium, Provinz Nord-Kivu, in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo geboren. Er besuchte die Grundschule Kasando 2 und die Sekundarschule in Kirumba bei den Schwestern der Gesellschaft der Maries de Notre-Dame. Am Ende absolviert er ein Universitätsstudium der Agrarwissenschaften in Butembo.
