Management of pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris)

The intention of IPM mainly focus on:Healthy environment, Healthy animals, Healthy human being and Healthy food.It is a multidisciplinary approach of pest management system, ecologically and economically sound which aims at keeping pest population below economic threshold level.This can be done by integrating two or more tactics such as cultural,host plant resistance, mechanical/physical, biological control like the use of predators, parasitoids, fungi, bacteria, virus and easily degradable and less persistence bio-pesticides and wise use of synthetic pesticides based on its compatibility and economic feasibility as well as its effectiveness in pest management.Having this in mind develop and use IPM and save life,keep the well being of your environment,think of beneficial organisms and minimize cost of production.

He was born in 1976 in Ethiopia. He awarded a B.Sc degree in PPDF in 2002 from Debub University. He served as instructor,Department head of plSc and Advt vice Dean of TVET college,in Oromia region. He awarded his M.Sc in IPM from Haramaya University in October 2011. Currently he is working at Adama Science and Technology University as a lecturer.
