The idea of writing this book was born out of the observation that there is an increasing decline in the level of professional commitment among teachers in Cameroon today. The question that guided our reflection is the following: Do the managerial skills of technical school principals tend to improve teachers' professional commitment more than those of general school principals? The contexts that served as a framework for our experiment were the technical high school in Maroua and the high school in Kakatare. Our investigations were conducted on the basis of a questionnaire sent to 40 teachers and the verification of the hypotheses was done through the Student's t test for independent groups. At the end of our study, the general hypothesis according to which "the managerial skills of technical school principals tend to improve teachers' professional commitment more than those of general school principals" was confirmed. Based on this result, suggestions were addressed to the state, school leaders, and teachers.

Victorin FOSSI holds a Diploma of Teacher of Normal Education, second grade, obtained at the ENS of Maroua and a doctorate in Philosophy at the University of Maroua. He is currently teaching Education Sciences at the Ecole Normale d'Instituteurs de Bandjoun and in several private universities in Cameroon.
