This book shows how companies can practically implement the advantages of Industry 4.0 and digitalization and also addresses the current challenges with regard to engineering education for Industry 4.0. In this book, we collect the contributions of the 1st Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Automation (ISIEA 2022), which took place from June 2122, 2022 at the Free University of Bolzano.
