Manual of counseling in tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is one of the oldest known diseases in the world. Studies in U.K have shown that up to 10% of all new cases of tuberculosis are diagnosed by contact tracing procedures. This book presents an interventional study aiming to study the effect of counseling, as non classical health education method, for pulmonary T.B cases on; their compliance to treatment and the attendance rate of their household contacts to T.B control unit for better case detection among them. All newly diagnosed pulmonary T.B patients attending to the clinic during the period of the study were subjected to counseling session. All their household contacts were tested through application of a new strategy in examination for achieving higher detection rate.
