Details

ALL maritime regimes, be they based on the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea must ensure or, in critical situations, enforce compliance with this globally accepted document. Maritime safety is one of the chief concerns of this convention. Today Classification Society (CS) play a very important role in ensuring maritime safety. The purpose of present research is to analyse the role of CS in terms of better implementation of Flag State (FS) responsibility related obligations derived from various international instruments. While doing so, this research will analyse the experience of Georgia as a Flag State.
