Maritime Security of Fisherman in India

Maritime fishery sector is having a great importance in the economy of India. India is having a coastline of 7,500kilometers in which nine states of India shares the coastline. Maritime security of fisherman in India covers the problems and threats faced by the fisherman community during the pursuit to earn their livelihood.The life of fishermen is always under the threat as they have to risk their life during their venture.The fisherman cannot give up their fishing in any case as it is their source of bread for centuries. Because of this, they become the victims of crossing the borders in the sea.The fisherman considers the sea as their working place and they don't believe in any sea boundaries as their survival is more important for them. They go to the sea for their bread even by risking their life as it is the traditional occupation of their clan.
