It is known from the United States (Oregon). The larvae feed on Abies grandis and Pseudotsuga menziesii. They mine the stem of their host plant. It mines the smooth bark surfaces. The mines are formed in the living periderm of the host causing superficial injury to the tree. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 different species of moth (about ten times the number of species of butterfly), with thousands of species yet to be described.
