Mathematical Performance and Hormones
Details
In this study researchers investigate the relationship between some specific hormones (Testosterone- Thyroid- Stimulating Hormone- Prolactin-Thyroxine) and some predictive factors of mathematical performance in university students. The results of this study offer a new way to conceptualize the relationship between various hormones and cognition literature. According to the eighty tests (forty for males and forty for females )performed in this survey twelve significant differences were found between low and high hormone groups and mathematical performance as well as its predictors. As can be inferred from the results of this study, hormones in question have more effects on predictive factors of mathematical performance for female students than male ones. Ten significant differences found for female students, in contrast just two significant differences were found for male students.
