Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi and Kabir: A Comparative Study

The present work "Maulana Rumi and Kabir-A Comparative Study is an endeavor to bring into light the essence of two great mystic and Sufi poets Kabir and Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi. Kabir's poetry is a reflection of his philosophy about life. The spiritual preaching's of Kabir uplifted the oppressed humanity and gave strength to stand up on their feet and fight against all religious, social and political inequalities, and created a new universalism and culture based on oneness of ultimate reality, brotherhood of mankind irrespective of their racial, ethnic, linguistic or cultural differences. Jalaluddin Muhammad Balkhi is one of the greatest philosopher poets that the world has ever seen and besides this, he is a mystic par excellence. He valued his poetic gift as a means of spreading his theosophical ideas and his spiritual experiences. Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi heralded the cause of Sufism at a time when the Mongol hordes had wreaked havoc in Asia and people were groping in the dark and striving arduously in search of truth and realization.
