Meaning Dichotomy Surveys

This book is a collection of thoughts on several topics, all of which gravitate towards the narrow concepts of Semantics, General Philology, English Language Studies and Translation. It would be rather difficult to pinpoint an exact scientific field it ponders. Instead, it aims to converge the elements of the aforementioned concepts into a readable blend of postulates that an interested linguistics novice or scholar might find useful and inspirational. It falls short of putting forth a general philological theory, but it does build conceptual bridges between the Serbian and English languages as far as their commonalities and functionalities are concerned. Meandering interest notwithstanding, the pervasive feature of the book is fascination with the phenomenon of language, its powerful faculties and endless riddles waiting to be unraveled.

Dalibor Kesic was born in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska,Bosnia and Herzegovina. Having lived for a few years in the UK and Serbia, he has pursued his academic career in his hometown of Banja Luka where he currently holds an associate professor post at the University of Banja Luka focusing his research on Semantics and English Language Studies.
