Measurement of biochemical parameters in community pharmacies

This document aims to propose the feasibility of a professional service, in the field of community pharmacy, oriented to the control of the most relevant biochemical parameters in the prevention of the most prevalent diseases in our society. The importance of the two agents involved in the exchange is emphasized; on the one hand, the community pharmacist in his most active role as a health agent, and on the other hand, the patient, with a necessary involvement and a desirable personal empowerment. The community pharmacy is analyzed as a plausible environment for the development of this initiative.
