Measuring Sustainability of Tourism Development

Planning the development of tourism in the protected area requires a series of analyzes that are used for in the economic, political, cultural, technological and ecological environment of the area are rating the impact of tourism activities on the biodiversity of the protected areas. Changes taking place particularly important for the management, in order to maintain the quality of the touristic offer. Changes that occur in the environment must be registered, understood and accepted as a basis for making management decisions. According to many authors,Jovicic [29],Popescu [53], Graeme[17], Eagles [14], the comparative indicators can be a good starting point for determination of the degree of development sustainability of tourism.The elaborated method of measuring the intensity of sustainable tourism development provides the ability to diminish the imprecision, vagueness and ambiguities that accompany the measurement of comparative indicators when the measurement results are shown in fuzzy sets and for assessing the sustainability of tourism development the theory of fuzzy logic is used.
