Measuring the Radiation Dose to a Nuclear Medicine Technologist's Hand

In a NM department there are several members carrying out various responsibilities. Nuclear medicine physician, medical physicist, nuclear medicine technologist, nurses and patient assistants are important among them.Technologist who works closely with the nuclear medicine physician has a specific role in the department preparing radiopharmaceuticals, performing patient imaging procedures using radiation detecting instruments, computer processing to image enhancement and providing images, data analysis and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.While the nuclear medicine technologist is engaged in his works, he is exposed to IR to a considerable extent. It is important to measure the amount of radiation dose he receives and check whether the dose is within internationally recommended dose limits.
