This book agrees linguistically with the Unified Sudanese Engineering Dictionary and is considered a reference in its field. It can benefit the student, engineer and researcher. Most of the material in this book is derived from lectures and notes composed in his teaching of this course for a period of just over thirty years.This book aims to emphasize the importance of identifying engineering measuring devices and linking them to mechanical systems in order to try to identify the new application known as mechatronic i.e., which links mechanical elements with electrical and electronic control systems.The author hopes that this book will contribute to enriching the university library inside and outside Sudan in this field of knowledge and hopes that the reader should send feedback if there are any errors so that the author can correct them in the next edition of the book.

Dr. Osama Mohammed Elmardi Suleiman Khayal was born in Atbara, Sudan in 1966. He received a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Sudan University of science and technology in 1998, and a master degree in solid mechanics from Nile valley university (Atbara, Sudan) in 2003; He also received his PhD degree in mechanics of materials in 2017.
