Mechanical Plaque Control

The primary means of controlling supra-gingival dental plaque is through by mechanical action. The daily disruption of dental plaque appears to be critical in countering the deleterious effects of dental plaque. Optimal oral hygiene requires not only the appropriate motivation and instruction of the patient but also the adequate tools. This book summarizes the basic concepts of dental plaque, tools and techniques of plaque control along with efficacy of these devices in mechanical plaque control.
