This book analyzes the positive changes, challenges, and corresponding solutions regarding charitable donation in China. Gao Jianguo is Professor of Department of Social Work, School of Philosophy and Social Development, Shandong University, and serves as Standing Director of China Sociological Association, Standing Director of China Association for Social Work Education, Director of Gerontological Society of China, Director of Social Policy Commission of China, and a member of China Ministry of Education Supervisory Committee for Teaching of Sociological Majors. He was an advanced visiting scholar supported by Fulbright Program and visiting scholar supported by China-Canada Scholar Exchange Program (CCSEP). In recent years, he has published a lot of monographs and course-books, represented by The Development of Social Work in China: Reviews and Studies by Canadian Chinese Scholars, Community Work, Value and Ethics of Social Work, Overseas Social Work, Productive Participation of Elders, The Community Mechanism of Providing Public Goods in Rural China, and Studies of Social Well-Being. His important academic articles include "Improving the Mechanism of Charitable Donation to Deepen the Development of Charities in China," "China's Inspirations from the External Supervising Mechanism for Charitable Donations in the United States," "On the Mechanism for Organizing Charitable Donation Operations in the United States," "An Analysis of the Trends of the Charitable Donation Mechanism Development in China," "Construction and Guarantee of Social Security Rights and Benefits in Rural China," and "Features of the System for Aiding Households Enjoying Five Guarantees in Rural China."
