Media in Conflicts and Peace in Sudan

The book explores the complex relationship between politics and media. According to Dr. Eltayeb Hag Ateya, Director of Peace Research Institute The Trilogy of the writer s knowledge and mastering the subject, the methodology and analysis along with the results and recommendations were all woven in a logical and masterly web to yield this book. The Performance and media coverage of Sudan s three major conflicts; South Sudan, Eastern region and Darfur conflicts during the period of the Government of National Unity is examined for the first time in this book. The dilemma of Sudan s media resides in the simultaneous coverage of the proceedings of peace agreements as well as the agitating conflict in Darfur. Sudan s ethnic-regional diversity is perceived as a challenge to the peaceful co-existence, homogeneity and unity of North and South Sudan. Dr. Hind Abbas Hilmi is an assistant professor of Political Communication; A well-seasoned media analyst and researcher, worked as a national consultant to World Bank and Nile Basin Initiative Sudan.
