How will a new parent announce his childbirth? not only this research will try to answer that question but the method which it uses could amplify our understandings of computer mediated communications. This paper research and investigate the selection and use of media at the announcement of childbirth in relation to media richness theory (MRT) and channel expansion theory (CET) as well as for system usage, geographical distance and social distance. The area of study was three hospitals in the Haifa district, Israel as well as the social media. The findings of the research are surprising in every aspect and could lead the research to the next generation of media richness theories.
