Medication Adherence among Hypertensive Patient and Associated Factors

Background: Medication adherence is an important predictor of optimal blood pressure control; hence, it significantly reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and associated deaths. However, studies on medication adherence and its associated factors are scarce. Objective: This study was aiming to assess Medication Adherence among Hypertensive Patients and Associated Factors, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Method: Institutional based cross-sectional study was conducted in Addis Ababa. The data collection was conducted from August to September 2022. The final calculated sample size was 357 which were proportionally allocated to each of the institutions and a multi-stage sampling technique was used. The data will be collected from hypertensive patients using pre-tested structured questionnaires and a chart review was employed for data collection. Data were checked, cleaned, and entered into Epidata software version 3.1, and exported to SPSS version 25 software and STATA for analysis.
