Medicinal Importance of Pyrazolone Scaffolds

Pyrazolone is a five membered lactam ring (heterocyclic ring), containing two nitrogen and one ketonic group in its structure. Because of their wide range of biological action and their wide running utility as synthetic tools in the design of different bioactive molecules, they have a specific value in the pharmaceutical industry. They have antimicrobial, antifungal, antimycobacterial, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, gastric secretion stimulatory, antidepressant and antifilarial activity. The high therapeutic properties of the pyrazolone related medications have urged the therapeutic scientists to synthesize countless novel chemotherapeutic agents. This book gives a brief outlook on the synthesis and biological profile along with structure of the active molecule of the series of particular work of pyrazolones and its derivatives. It is an attempt to compile the work of different therapeutic scientists at one place. We hope this effort of ours will help the students not only at the beginning of their research work but also in designing of newer derivatives of pyrazolones and evaluating them for their therapeutic potential.
