Meeting Occupational Health Needs in Ugandan Sugar Factory

Promoting occupational health and safety best practices at Kaliro sugar company in Kaliro district to prevent workplace hazards and risks in Kaliro district, in the Ugandan eastern region is very important. Sugar and Allied Industries Limited is a privately owned company. This study highlights the urgent need for all managers to come up with a way of promoting occupational health and safety best practices to prevent workplace hazards and risks in the sugar industries plus other industries in Uganda. The main objectives of the study were to examine and determine the present and potential safety hazards, to analyze the safety measures used in the regulations, design standards, and codes of practices and their effect on the safety of workers, and to develop appropriate guidelines for safety.
